Shoot Preparation
Once you’ve made your shoot booking here are some things to keep in mind. These are all just recommendations; it is your shoot and you should always do what makes you feel the most comfortable and what you think will obtain you the best results.

Things to consider
-
You know what suits you and your body best when it comes to styles and cuts. However wearing something structured and simple that doesn’t have any distracting patterns is always recommended.
-
For each outfit you plan, I would recommend bringing a shoe that works with the outfit. Most of the shoot will be shot from the waist up, however some full length shots may be taken.
-
Try to come with your hair and makeup already done to make the most of the shoot.
How you wear your hair is completely up to you. If you wish to change your hair throughout the shoot you’re more than welcome to and a hair dryer and straighteners can be provided, however this may take time away from shooting.
-
You may arrive up to 10 mins early to allow time to settle in. Arriving any earlier than this will result in being asked to come back later or possible not seen to if a shoot is ongoing.
-
I tend to treat my editorial headshot shoots similarly to how I would a dance shoot.
Movement is key and incorporating your natural style of movement through each shot helps to show your uniqueness as well as different point of view to shoot headshots; creating dynamic shots and truly individual images.
-
The shoot will typically start with you being welcomed into the studio and made comfortable. You’ll be shown to where you can get changed. A hair dryer, straighteners, and mirror can be provided for any touch ups you wish to do on arrival.
Once you’ve settled in we’ll begin your shoot. I’ll talk you through my style of working and recommendations of how to pose.
Throughout the shoot I’ll change the lighting set ups multiple times and give you time to change outfits when necessary.
I do my best to make my shoots as friendly and a relaxed environment as possible. Photoshoots can be a stressful time and I like to make my shoots an enjoyable experience. I always have music playing thoughout the shoot (feel free to put in requests).
Once the shoot has finished, you’ll be given time to pack up and ask any questions you might have about the shoot.
